Hi girls, I hope you’re all well and not missing school too much. Here are some activities for you to do if you want to but there is no pressure. If you would like to upload any of the work you are doing for me onto Seesaw, I would love to see it and am happy to answer any questions you might have about it!
Maths:
Tables-Revision and Games: Revise the following Tables:
Monday: x 4
Tuesday: x 6
Wednesday: x 9
Thursday: x 10
Friday: x 11.
For each of the Tables, complete the following activities (For Fun, no stress! These activities stay the same, you just change the Table that you are working on, and the aim is to increase the speed in which you answer each week / day):
Time:
This week we are continuing our work on time. This can be a tricky topic. If you need help, try visiting www.topmarks.co.uk and typing Teaching Clock into the search bar. Alternatively, you could make a clock if you have a paper plate, drawing pin or blue tack and paper or card to make the 2 hands.
Answer the following questions:
Hours and minutes: Remember, 1 hour=60 minutes. Change these times to minutes.
Ex: 1 hr 30 mins. = 90 mins. (60+30)
Digital time. Can you say these times out loud? You might be able to say them in two different ways. You might like to record yourself and upload it to Seesaw.
Ex: 10:15= Ten-fifteen or a quarter past ten.
Extra work- complete only if you have time to do so
Problem-Solving/ Practice:
Monday: What numbers come next in this sequence: 311, 312, _____, 314, _____, 316, 317, 318, ____, _______.
Tuesday: What is 1/5 (one fifth) of 100?
Wednesday: 1 hour 40 mins. = how many minutes?
Thursday: There are 5 groups in a class and there are 7 girls in each group. How many girls are in the class altogether? The teacher re-arranges the class so that they are now sitting in groups of 5. How many people in each group now? (You may like to draw tables or groups to help you with this one)
Friday: Which number is the odd one out and why? 15, 50, 35, 28, 10, 40.

Reading:
Look out for the optional activity that I posted on Seesaw last week!
Read the following texts from My Read At Home Book 4 and answer the questions orally. If there are any words that you don’t know, look them up. If you don’t have the book at home with you, you can find it at: https://my.cjfallon.ie/preview/student/4131/1 (Bk 4).
MRAH Book 4:
Monday: P. 79 The Leaning Tower of Pisa
Tuesday: P.80 Timber Wolf
Wednesday: P. 81 Replacement Teacher
Thursday: P.82 Elephants
Friday: P. 83 Cheesecake with Strawberry Topping
Activity A: Why not try and make the Cheesecake with Strawberry Topping if you get a chance? Take a picture of it and upload it to your Seesaw account. Write out the procedure in your own words, including: Ingredients, Method or Steps. Save a slice for me!
Activity B: If you are using your Seesaw App, why not record yourself reading one of the stories from the My Read At Home book and upload it so I can listen to your reading!
Writing:
Have some feelings! Describing and explaining how you feel can be a very important part of creative writing (and very important for life in general!). Write down how you might feel in the following situations:
How do you feel when?
