Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are all keeping well and staying safe in these unprecedented times. As you are aware, class teachers have already given work for your child but we intend to stay in touch with you re on-going work.

This letter contains suggested activities for your child for the period 23rd– 27th March.

Firstly, we would ask that all our pupils continue to engage with the four activities listed below.

1. Family Board Games/Card Games benefits oral language, collaboration, problem solving, conflict resolution and fun! 2. Reading- Reading feeds brains! 3. Regular exercise. 4. Being helpful at home.

We would ask you to share these recommendations with your child, as they will already be familiar with them from discussing them in school.

Secondly, some of our pupils, in consultation with you our parents, might like to keep a journal/diary entry of their personal thoughts, feelings, activities etc. at this time.

These are the first generation of primary school children, who will have experienced anything like this in the history of the state.

Such a document would be a unique perspective and historical record of this unprecedented event.

It could be handwritten, typed or presented digitally. Illustrations, pictures or photos could be included if the children wish to add them. Children may prefer to keep this document for personal use or they may choose to share their insights with others.

Finally, please find here on the website, a list of specific work for your child’s class level and other activities which your child may complete over this time period. Individual class work can be found under the tab ‘Children’s Work’.

We ask you to use your own discretion in overseeing this work, based on your child’s individual needs.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Take care and stay safe.

Le meas,
