Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations in Scoil Bhríde Cailíní
The girls in Scoil Bhríde Cailíní were busy practicing and using as much Irish as they could during Seachtain na Gaeilge, which ran from the 11th to the 29th of March. Seachtain na Gaeilge is an annual celebration of Irish language, music, dance, songs, games and poetry.
During the two weeks, the girls had lots of fun doing a Tráth na gCeist (quiz), a Toraíocht Taisce (Treasure Hunt), Cluichí sa Chlós (playground games), Biongó (Bingo), singing songs and saying poems, all through Irish. The highlight of the two weeks for many was the Ceilí, where every class danced to traditional Irish music – even the teacher’s danced!
