Celery Experiment in Seoda

The girls in Seoda did a very interesting science experiment. They learned that plants absorb water through their roots. When food colouring is added to the water, it travels with the water into the celery’s stem and then into the leaves. Plants absorb nutrients from the soil through the roots and up through the plant’s stems. The food colouring illustrates how nutrients are delivered to all parts of the plant. We had lots of fun doing this experiment and seeing the results.
